M&M's Brownie Brittle – Crunchy Chocolate Bliss or Just Another Gimmick?

We tried Brownie Brittle M&M’s — are they a top-tier treat or forgettable twist?

Brownie Brittle with M&M'S Minis doubles down on crunch instead of pretending to be a chewy brownie

Brownie Brittle has always taken the edge-of-the-pan crowd seriously. Instead of trying to imitate the fudgy center of a brownie, it turns the crispest part into the whole snack. Adding M&M'S Minis pushes that idea even farther, giving HFF a chocolate-on-chocolate taste test where the real question is whether the candy adds useful contrast or just makes an already sweet snack busier.

The base is intentionally thin and crisp

Sheila G's describes Brownie Brittle as a crunchy brownie snack meant to capture the crispy edges of a brownie pan. That distinction matters because the word brownie can create the wrong expectation if you go in looking for something dense and fudgy. This is closer to a brittle cookie in texture: thin, snappy and designed to be eaten by the piece or handful rather than with a fork.

M&M'S Minis add a second kind of crunch

The collaboration tops the chocolate brownie brittle with M&M'S Minis, layering candy shells and milk chocolate over the crisp base. Because the candies are smaller than regular M&M'S, they can distribute across a thin piece without completely overwhelming it. The result is not simply 'more chocolate.' The candy shell creates tiny hard pops against a brittle texture that is crisp in a different way, so the snack gets contrast even though the flavor family stays very close.

Chocolate-on-chocolate needs texture to keep it from becoming monotonous

A mashup this focused on cocoa and sugar does not have acidity, salt or fruit to reset the palate. That puts more pressure on the physical bite. Brownie Brittle can stay interesting because the wafer-like pieces shatter, while the Minis break separately and then melt. If those textures remain distinct, the collaboration earns something beyond visual novelty. If everything registers as one sweet chocolate crunch, the second ingredient is mostly decoration.

The best use case may be more flexible than eating it straight from the bag

Brownie Brittle itself suggests using the pieces as a snack, and the thin format also makes them easy to crumble over ice cream or other desserts. The M&M'S version makes even more sense that way because the colored candy and crisp brownie pieces can add both texture and chocolate to something softer. For HFF, though, tasting it on its own is the useful baseline: if the snack can keep its balance without another food underneath it, anything you crumble it onto is a bonus rather than a rescue mission.
